Cute, Easy and Patriotic!
May 6, 2014
When it comes to holiday treats, I always look forward to the 4th of July. What a wonderful time to spend with family and to make memories as well as new traditions. I am off for the summer and I love to cherish every single moment given. A few years ago the boys really enjoyed creating the patriotic pinwheels. They were so much fun and a cute party decoration. Keeping that in mind, I thought it would be fun to combine a classic and give it a twist with a stick! What a fun way to eat a sticky treat.
Raise your hand if you are a fan of the classic rice cereal treat? I have a house full of them (fans, that is.) I decided it would be fun to bring out the colors associated with Independence Day and make a treat that would be great for outdoor gatherings and patriotic parties. These Stars and Stripes Rice Treats combine our love for JET-PUFFED Marshmallows and adds the yummy taste of strawberries. If you have never tried the JET-PUFFED STRAWBERRY MALLOWS then you need to give them a go! When you combine them with rice cereal you get a pink colored treat that brings out the fun. Add a cookie stick and a little washi tape and you have a full on edible decoration.
So, have fun with this simple and delicious recipe. Use it for a centerpiece for your outdoor cookout and share with your neighbors.
