what you need
- 16 oz. penne pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cloves crushed garlic
- 1/2 cup chopped onion (we like ours in big chunks)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or more if you like a stronger flavor
- 2 jars (26-28 oz. each) basil flavored spaghetti sauce
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Cook the penne as directed on the package but, undercook slightly. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large skillet brown the beef, garlic and onion sprinkling with the salt, pepper and Italian spice.
In a large bowl combine the cooked meat mixture, the penne, spaghetti sauce and three cups of cheese. Put in to a greased 9x13 baking dish and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese.
Bake for 45-55 minutes or until hot and bubbly in the center.
