what you need
- CAKE:
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 1/4 cup (hot) water
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening (not oil)
- 1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- ICING:
- Cook in sauce pan
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 stick margarine
- 3 egg yolks
- Cook until thickened
- ADD:
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup Bakers coconut
- 1 cup pecan pieces

Grease and flour 13x9 cake pan
Bake 35 minutes at 350
Let icing and cake cool, then add icing.
