what you need
- 4-6 medium size potatoes, diced
- 1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 small can water chestnuts (optional)
- Water (about 6 cups)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon all purpose seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons Crisco Oil

In large saucepan mix all ingredients (except the oil). Add extra water to make more broth.
Cook on high heat until soup starts to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
Add oil, and continue cooking for about 15-20 minutes.
Notes
I serve this with cornbread or crackers (I prefer cornbread).
Very good and tasty in cold weather.
