Gowampkie (Cabbage) Casserole

what you need
  • 2 pounds cooked hamburger
  • 2 cups cook rice
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 head cabbage, cut in half
  • 2 large cans whole tomatoes processed in food mill
make it
Mix ground beef and rice, season with salt and pepper.

Layer half of cabbage in casserole dish. Put ground beef and rice mixture on top of cabbage. Put remainder of cabbage on tip. Put the tomatoes over top of dish.

Cook at 250 to 300 degrees F for 4 to 5 hours. Cover for the first 2 hours.
