what you need
- 2 veal steaks, pounded out to about 1/4 inch
- 2 tablespoons lard or oil
- 1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 green pepper, cut into 1 inch squares
- 1 packet onion soup mix (dehydrated)
- 2 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
make it
1. Brown veal steaks in oil; pour off drippings.
2. Drain mushrooms; save the juice, brown mushrooms in butter until tender.
3. Add green peppers, onion soup mix, flour, milk, and mushroom juice. Bring to a boil while constantly stirring.
4. Place veal steaks in greased 8 x 12 pan, add sauce.
5. Cover and cook in oven at 300 degrees F for 30 minutes. Remove cover and cook another 15 minutes. Serve.

Side dishes: Wild brown rice, vermicelli, or mashed potatoes
