what you need
  • 1 envelope active dry yeast
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
make it
Combine yeast and 2 cups lukewarm water in a large bowl. Let mixture stand 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients until well blended.

Spoon into well-greased muffin pans, filling 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.
Unused batter may be stored in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 1 week. You can bake as many or as few as you like.
