what you need
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 pkg. dry active yeast
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 cups oil
- 1/2 cup Kraft Parmesan Cheese
- 1 can pizza sauce
- Favorite pizza toppings
make it
Dissolve sugar into warm water and add yeast. Mix flour and salt in separate bowl. Add yeast mixture to flour stir or kneed together. Form dough into a ball cover with plastic wrap and let stand for 15 minutes.
Kneed for two minutes and form dough into four balls. Roll out each ball into circles. On half of the circle leaving about 1/2 inch border on the edge spread 2 Tbsp. of pizza sauce and sprinkle 1/4 of the cheese. Add other toppings (each can be made to individual tastes). Fold the dough over toppings and press the sides together ensure the sides are sealed (very important!!). Finish preparing all calzones before starting to cook.
Heat oil in a frying pan. Place one calzone into the oil. Cook for about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown, flip, and cook until the other side is golden brown. Place calzone on paper towel to absorb excess oil and serve (contents may be too hot at first for children).
