what you need
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. baking soda
- 4 Tbsp. buttermilk
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup nuts, ground
- 3 mashed bananas
- ICING
- 1 box confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 bananas, mashed
- Few drops lemon juice
make it
Cream butter and sugar. Add salt and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. Add alternately with flour to creamy mixture. Add nuts and bananas. Makes 3 (8-inch) layers or 2 (9-inch) squares.
Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until done.
ICING:
Add sugar to melted butter. Add mashed bananas to which have been added a few drops of lemon juice. Mix well and put together the cake layers with it. Cover top and sides.
