More Than a Strawberry Shortcake

what you need
- 1 yellow cake mix
- 1 tub (16-ounce) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
- 1 container (8-ounce) sour cream (or substitute)
- 1 package (4-serving) JELL-O French Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 quarts fresh or frozen strawberries

Bake cake according to box directions and let cool completely. In a large bowl combine COOL WHIP, sour cream, pudding mix and sugar and mix well.
When cake has cooled completely, slice lengthwise (a two-layer round cake will make four layers; one sheet cake will make two layers).
Place layer of cake, layer of COOL WHIP mixture and layer of sliced berries as necessary. Save about 2 cups of berries whole for the top. This cake is best if it is refrigerated overnight!
