what you need
- 2/3 cup self rising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black ground pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Cheyenne pepper
- 6 center cut pork chops
- 1/4 cup cooking oil (corn)
- 1 green bell pepper
- 2 jars Heinz Brown Gravy, divided
- 2 tablespoon hot sauce
- Vinegar
make it
Pour self rising flour into gallon size Ziploc with the following: ground black pepper, sea salt, and Cheyenne pepper; shake well. Clean chops in cold water then place into Ziploc and shake well. Let chops sit for about 6 minutes for batter to adhere to chops.
In large skillet pour cooking oil. Heat on medium high heat when oil is hot. Place chops into oil and cook about 5 minutes on each side just to golden brown not until done.
Next chop green bell pepper into small diced pieces, and place into a 9x13 casserole dish sprayed well with Pam cooking spray. Pour one jar brown gravy over bell pepper. Place chops in casserole dish and pour 2nd jar of gravy over chops, hot sauce, and vinegar into gravy. Stir into gravy evenly, cover with foil.
Place into 350 degrees F oven for 1 hour then serve with potatoes or rice.
Notes
If you want more heat from spices just add 1/2 teaspoon more of Cheyenne pepper to gravy with hot sauce and vinegar. The vinegar is mainly for tenderizing the chops. They will fall apart, no need for a knife. If you do not want a lot of heat back down hot sauce to 1 1/2 teaspoon -- this is for flavoring.
