what you need
- 6 quarts fully ripe apples (Jonathon or any tart apples)
- 4 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves
make it
Peel, core and thinly slice apples. Place in large pan and cook on low until they cook into applesauce. Use a potato masher or mixer if some pieces are harder to cook. Stir often to prevent sticking. Do not add water.
When apples are cooked, add sugar, cinnamon and cloves.
Pour into crock-pot. Cook on high until it comes to a boil. Reduce crock-pot to low and cook 8 hours with lid off. Place in hot jars and seal.
