what you need
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
- 1 cup Kraft reduced-fat cheddar cheese
- 2 lg granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1/8 inch thick
- 1/3 cup golden raisins
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
make it
Thaw the pastry for 20 min. Preheat oven to 350. Roll the pastry into a 15 x 12-inch rectangle. Make the filling: Sprinkle the cheese on dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Arrange apples on top of cheese, sprinkle with raisins.
In med-sized measuring cup, mix both sugars with the cinnamon, sprinkle over apple filling. Starting from one of the wide ends, roll up the dough jelly-roll style. Place on a lg baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray, seam side down. Tuck the ends under. Using a sharp knife, make 7 diagonal slits on the top, brush with melted butter.
Bake for 35 min or until golden brown.
Notes
I love this dessert for the fall. It's got that apple-cheese-gooey taste that reminds me of colorful leaves and warm coats. Great for anytime you want to smile.
