what you need
- 6 (6") lollipop sticks
- 6 lg apples, at room temp, stemmed, patted dry
- 2 cups assorted toppings, such as, sno-caps candies, or rainbow sprinkles or Reese’s mini pieces, (in Halloween colors,)
- 3 pkg. (5.5 oz. each) caramels, unwrapped
make it
Line a lg baking sheet with wax paper, coat with cooking spray. Insert stick into stem end of each apple.
Put toppings in shallow (separate) bowls, reserve. In lg glass measuring cup, microwave caramels on high with 1 Tbsp. water in 30-second intervals. Stirring between intervals, until melted.
Dip one apple into melted caramel, use a spoon to spread caramel, scrape off extra. Immediately roll coated apple in desired topping. While rolling, as caramel cools slightly, press topping onto apple. Place on baking sheet, let stand until set, 15-20 min. Repeat with remaining apples, caramel and toppings of choice. Reheat caramel as needed.

Children love to help make these, especially because they get to choose a topping of their choice.
