what you need
- 1-1/4 lb. either lean ground beef or lean ground turkey breast
- 3 Tbsp. cold water
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- Dash of black pepper
- Dash of paprika
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- TOPPING:
- 1 cup spaghetti sauce
- 3/4 cup grated Kraft Cheddar Cheese
- 2 Tbsp. Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 Tbsp. dried Italian herbs
make it
Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a shallow baking dish sparingly with cooking spray. Set aside. In large bowl, combine ground beef or ground turkey, cold water, garlic salt, oregano, pepper and paprika. Mix, blend well.
Divide meat into even pieces. Shape each piece into a patty, about 3/4-inch thick. Coat patties with flour, and let sit for 5 minutes. Dip patties into egg, then into bread crumbs. Brown patties on both sides in butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Arrange patties in baking dish. Pour a little of the spaghetti sauce over patties. Sprinkle with both cheeses. Pour the remaining spaghetti sauce over patties. Bake for about 25 minutes or until patties are hot and cheese melted. Sprinkle with herbs before serving.
Notes
I serve the patties with a small bowl of spaghetti sprinkled with melted butter and herbs, and my Italian-style breadsticks.
