Sherry's Easy Holiday Cheese Balls

what you need
  • 1-1/2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 3 pkg. (8 oz. each) Philadelphia Cream Cheese, room temp
  • 1/4 cup Breakstone’s Sour Cream
  • 1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper
  • 2 scallions, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. creamy horseradish sauce
  • 1-1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 6 slices cooked Oscar Mayer bacon, crumbled 1/2 tsp. mustard powder
  • 1 cup finely chopped gala apple
  • 1 cup shredded Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese, divided
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 5 oz. (1/2 cup) chopped fresh parsley

Heat dry skillet over med heat, add walnuts; cook, stirring, until lightly browned. Remove from skillet, cool completely.

In bowl, with mixer on medium speed, beat cream cheese, sour cream, salt and pepper until smooth. Stir in scallions. Divide 1-1/2 cups mixture between 2 separate bowls. Reserve. To remaining mix, stir in horseradish and paprika, then bacon. To one reserved bowl, stir in mustard, apple and half cup cheddar. To remaining bowl, stir in blue cheese and 1/2 cup walnuts. Cover bowls, chill 1 hr.

Moisten hands with water. Shape bacon mixture into ball, roll in parsley. Shape apple mix into ball, roll in remaining cheddar. Shape blue cheese mix into ball, and roll in remaining 1 cup walnuts. Serve cheese balls with sliced veggies and crackers.
