what you need
- Crumb Topping
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 6 cups sliced/peeled Fuji apples
- 1 9-inch pastry crust
- Caramel Topping
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup caramel topping (ice cream topping)
make it
1. Put all Crumb Topping ingredients in bowl except butter and mix. Cut butter in until you have coarse crumbs. Set aside.
2. In large bowl place the sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt; mix. Add apples and toss. Place in pie shell (in pie pan or glass pie dish). Cover pie with Crumb Topping.
3. Cover edges with aluminum foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil and continue to bake for another 25. Remove from oven, top with nuts and drizzle with caramel. Cool.
Notes
Pie is drop-dead delicious. Warning Addictive......
An apple slicer/corer/peeler makes this go a lot faster.
