I love chocolate for everything from brownie baking to strawberry dipping, and especially for that perfectly thin drizzle over the top of my favorite baked goods. The latest way I’ve discovered to enjoy it is on a favorite frozen treat made at home! Vanilla ice cream is packed into crisp sugar cones, dipped into velvety smooth semisweet chocolate, rolled in nuts and frozen! Can’t you practically taste it by looking at the photos? These creamy, crisp ice cream cones taste even better than store-bought.
When it comes to buying frozen treats, my pull has always been toward these ice cream cones! This scrumptious childhood favorite has crossed over big-time into adulthood. However, I never considered making these treats at home, and I never realized how simple it would be to achieve even better taste and texture from my own ingredients. And since this recipe only requires five ingredients, you can create your own delicious ice cream cones with total ease. If you’re expecting a crowd, double the ingredients listed, and whip up a larger batch!
Melted chocolate makes a sweet coating over these amazing ice cream cones. I can’t leave out the best part, though: the chunk of chocolate hidden at the bottom of the cone! Simply drizzle a bit of melted chocolate and let it set. Not only is it a delicious surprise, it keeps the ice cream from dripping out of the cone.
You will have so much fun making these homemade cones! They’re perfect for a treat any time of year and can be frozen for up to a month.
