With the New Year comes opportunity for a fresh start. I like to take the first few days at the beginning of January to mentally prepare myself for the months ahead. I use this time to think seriously about what I want to accomplish. I then outline goals and formulate a plan. At the top of my list, I prioritize health, diet, and nutrition.
Now that the New Year has started, I’m really trying to stick to my resolutions. One of the most important is for me to spend more quality time with my kids in the afternoon. A few weekends ago, we had family come for a long weekend. We spent the weekend grilling, playing in the pool and spending time with the new addition, our little sweet angel, Lillian. Inspiration can sometimes come from the most unexpected places. I just read an interview with a famous journalist—known for covering race and politics—who discussed his love of comic books (when I get a moment to read, I like to read everything!). One thing he said that really stuck with me was how much he liked plot twists in comics. Now, I’m no journalist, and I’m not a (conventional) superhero, but I do love a twist too!
