A Cake Full of Spring!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays to cook for. Fresh flavors, citrus juices, chocolate and peanut butter are abundant in my recipes. Pastel colors adorn decadent desserts making them ten times more special in the eyes of children. Bunny cakes and chocolate-filled baskets make their way back on my Easter dessert table every year without hesitation. This year, I decided to treat the adults with something different and beautiful to celebrate spring with a flowerfetti soda cake. Soda cakes have a distinct flavor and are moister than the average cake. Since this recipe calls for cake mix, the preparation is quick and effortless. Spring is the main theme, so colorful edible flower petals make this cake the star of the Easter holiday.

This flowerfetti cake is perfect for Mother’s Day, baby shower celebrations and I will even dare to prepare this for a spring wedding. Your guests will never guess soda is the secret ingredient that makes this dessert so unique.
