what you need
- 1/2 parsnip
- 1/2 potato
- 1/2 carrot
- 1/4 onion
- 1 tablespoon of oil/butter
- 1/2 cup minced beef (ground beef)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Tomato sauce
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- Milk to glaze
make it
Dice parsnip, potato & carrot. Place in saucepan, cover with water & cook until soft.
Finely cut onion. Place in saucepan with oil/butter, cook until soft, don't brown. Add minced beef & brown. Take off heat; add salt & pepper, a dash of tomato sauce & cooked vegetables.
Take 1 sheet of puff pastry. Cut circle using plate/saucepan lid as a template. Place mixture on circle of puff pastry. Fold over. Press edges together. Glaze with milk. Use fork to put holes in top. With any leftover mixture, repeat the steps to make more pasties. Place on greased tray.
Cook at 350°F (180°C) until golden brown.
Notes
1 sheet of puff pastry makes 1 pasty.
