what you need
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 envelope beef and onion soup mix
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 1 soup can water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
make it
Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion and salt and pepper. Form mixture into 6 patties. Fry in skillet for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and no longer pink in center. Remove patties from pan. Drain fat.
In same saucepan, mix soups and can of water. Heat mixture to boil, reduce heat to med, stirring until dry soup is dissolved. Mix 2 Tbsp. water and cornstarch together until smooth. Gradually add to soup mixture, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
Return beef patties to pan and heat through. Serve over mashed potatoes or cooked egg noodles.
