what you need
- 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
- 2 sticks (one cup) melted butter
- 2 Tbsp. black coffee
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup un-sweetened (Dutch) baking cocoa
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1/2 cup chopped white chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned (5 minute) rolled oats
make it
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9 inch baking pan, then flour with whole wheat flour.
2. Combine sugar, melted butter and coffee in a large bowl. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
3. Combine flour, cocoa, cinnamon, allspice, baking powder and salt. Stir into sugar mixture until well mixed. Stir in chopped nuts, chocolate, cranberries, and rolled oats. Spread into pan.
4. Bake for 18 to 25 minutes.
Notes
Note: Brownies will rise in the oven and "fall" a little when you take them out to cool. This is okay. Don't try to remove them from the pan until they cool off. They will fall apart! Just loosen the edges from the sides of the pan, and then let them cool for at least an hour.
