- 1 pkg. KRAFT caramels (about 50)
- 1 small can evaporated milk, divided
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake
- 3/4 cups melted butter
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup nuts (optional)
make it
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk; set aside. Mix cake with melted butter, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Place 2/3 of the mixture in a 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 6 minutes at 350°F.
Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts (optional). Pour caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Crumble the rest of the dough on top. Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Notes
Do not make cake according to package, mix only with butter and evaporated milk.
