what you need
- 1 bag frozen tater tots
- 1 lb. ground beef or 1 lb. breakfast sausage
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 bag blended shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese
make it
Preheat oven to 425°F. Line glass casserole dish with tater tots so that they cover the bottom, and place in oven for approx 20 minutes.
While tater tots are pre-cooking, brown hamburger meat or sausage (whichever you choose to use). When browned, drain grease thoroughly. Add cream of mushroom soup (do not add anything to soup, use it straight out of the can). Warm mixture of soup and meat on low until blended.
Spread soup mixture on top of pre-cooked tater tots and layer shredded cheese on top of meat mixture. Put back in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until cheese in all melted on top. Take out and enjoy!
Notes
I first used hamburger in this recipe, but for a breakfast casserole I decided to try the sausage version. My kids, Joey age 3 and Jake age 7, preferred the sausage version, so now I only make that one. It seems to have a lot better flavor!
It's a quick and easy all in one pan dinner that I love to make and never seem to have leftovers! Hope you enjoy!
