what you need
- 4 Tbsp. Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
- 8 slices sandwich bread
- 2 large (or 4 small) ripe cucumbers
- Salt and dill weed to taste
make it
Spread 1/2 Tbsp. cream cheese on each slice of bread. Peel and VERY THINLY slice the cucumbers.
Arrange the cucumbers on the bread so that you will get a cucumber in every bite! Sprinkle sparingly with salt and dill. Be careful with the dill- although the two taste great together, it tends to overpower the delicate taste of the cucumber.
Top the sandwiches and trim off the crust with a very sharp knife. Slice sandwiches into fourths. Arrange on a pretty tray and accent with a sprig of fresh dill.
Notes
I like whole wheat or potato bread)-(You may want to substitute the bread for appetizer crackers, experiment with the flavors.
This is an excellent appetizer if you are planning to serve salmon in your main course, since the dill and the salmon also complement each other.
