what you need
- 2-4 jalapenos, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 cup water
- 4 tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped finely
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
make it
Chop jalapenos and onion real fine. Melt margarine in a frying pan and saute onion and jalapenos until clear.
Add 1 cup of water and diced tomatoes and cook at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add spices and sugar, and cook an additional 10 minutes.
Keep an eye on the liquid. You might have to add a little water. Salsa is finished when all the liquid is absorbed. (You must cook for at least 30 minutes though!)
Notes
Make home made chips… or use store chips...
You can serve hot or cold. If you serve this cold, use a blender and chop it some.
