what you need
- 1 small pkg. corn chips
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion
- 2 cans chili style beans (regular, extra spicy, Tex-Mex, whatever your family likes)
- 2 cans mushroom soup
- 1 pkg. taco seasoning
- 1 pkg. (8 oz.) Kraft Cheddar Cheese
make it
Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray. Line bottom and sides of baking dish with corn chips. Brown ground beef and onions in saute pan or skillet. Drain when ground beef is fully cooked.
While ground beef is cooking, in large mixing bowl mix together the beans, mushroom soup, and taco mix.
After ground beef and onions are cooked and drained, mix them into the beans and mushroom soup mixture. Mix thoroughly. Pour over the corn chips and even the mixture out in the baking dish. Cover with Kraft Cheddar Cheese.
Bake for approx. 1 hour in 350 degrees F oven.
Notes
This recipe can be adjusted to your family's taste. If you don't like much spice, substitute 1 can of red kidney beans for one can of the chili beans.
If you live in an area where the extra spicy and/or the Tex-Mex style beans are not available, use chili powder, an extra pkg. of taco seasoning, or a liquid hot sauce to spice things up to your family's likings. Don't forget to salt and pepper at the table if wanted.
