what you need
- 1 loaf party rye
- 1 cup real mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 tablespoon grated onion
make it
Preheat oven broiler. Adjust oven rack to the second highest position.
Open rye and place on cookie sheet or jellyroll pan. Mix the last three ingredients in a small bowl. Put about one rounded teaspoon of mixture on each rye slice and spread to the edges. Usually takes about a loaf.
Place under broiler for about one minute. Watch carefully as it will brown very quickly. You just want it to bubble up.
Notes
Ingredients can be made a day ahead and refrigerated until ready to use. My family and friends cannot get over the taste. Taste similar to a pizza and it's vegetarian.
My husband does not care for mayo, parmesan cheese or fresh onion, but he loves these little bites.
Not sure where I found this recipe, but I have had it for over 25 years.
