White Chocolate and Michigan Cherry Chewy Cookie

what you need
- 3/4 cup (3/4 stick) butter flavor shortening
- 1-1/4 cups packed brown sugar (dark)
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1-3/4 flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dried Michigan cherries
- 1 cup chop pecans (OPITIONAL)

Heat oven to 375. Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk,and vanilla in a large bowl. Mix well. Add egg and mix until creamed.
Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix into creamed mixture, blend well. Stir in white chocolate chips, cherries and nuts.
Drop by Tbsp. of dough 3" apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake one sheet at a time for 8-10 minutes for soft and chewy cookie. Remove from sheet pan and cool on paper towel.
Notes
These cookies are one of my Granddaughter's fovorites.
If you want to dress them up for the Holiday's (like I do) try this: 1 cup white chocolate chips add 1 Tbsp. of shortening. Melt in microwave until melted and dip half of the cooled cookie in the mixture and place on wax paper to dry.
