what you need
- 2 cups sour milk* (Use 2 Tbsp. of white vinegar and enough milk to equal 2 cups)
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 lg. eggs
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
make it
Heat griddle to 375 degrees. Mix first 3 ingredients and beat. Add remaining ingredients and stir just until lumps disappear.
Pour batter, about 1/4 cup, onto lightly greased griddle. (Non stick cooking spray or margarine will do the trick) Bake until the bubbles break and the edges start to dry. Flip and cook on the other side.
Notes
I would wake up on Saturday morning to the smell of these pancakes and sausage links.
Occasionally my mom would make pancakes and sausage for dinner. She put the griddle right on our dinner table and would cook them as we needed them. I love that memory.
I am not sure how long this recipie has been in our family but it dates back at least 35 years, probably many more.
