- 1 cup margarine or butter softened
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg

- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt

make it
1. In large bowl, combine 1 cup of sugar, margarine, milk, vanilla, and egg; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate 1 hour for easier handling.
2. Heat oven to 400. On lightly floured surface, roll out 1/3 of dough at a time to 1/8 inch thickness. Keep remaining dough refrigerated. Cut with floured two inch cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. If desired sprinkle with sugar.
3. Bake at 400 for 5-9 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet when finished baking.
Notes
Before putting into refrigerator, mix dry ingredients in separate bowl than wet ingredient. Make sure to blend each ingredient in two bowls well.
