Doug's Never-Fail Pie Crust

what you need
- 4 cups unsifted flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 3/4 cups solid shortening (not refrigerated, no oil-lard-butter)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon cider or white vinegar
make it
Mix first four ingredients together. Mix well until crumbly.
In small bowl, with fork, beat together: 1/2 cup water, egg, vinegar.
Combine the two mixtures. Divide in 5 portions in flat patties, ready for rolling.
Wrap each in plastic wrap or wax paper. Chill at least 1/2 hour.
