what you need
- 1 lb. ground beef (or lean ground beef)
- 1 jar (16 oz.) TACO BELL HOME ORIGINALS Thick n' Chunky Salsa
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup whole kernel corn
- Chili powder to spice things up (if desired)
- 2 large rolls croissants
- 1 packet KRAFT Shredded Mexican Style Cheese
make it
- Preheat oven to 400°F; spray 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray
- Brown ground beef in skillet; drain
- Add entire jar of salsa, taco seasoning, corn (and chili powder if desired) to cooked beef
- Heat through; set aside
- Use rolling pin or hands to flatten each of the 2 croissant rolls to the size and shape of baking dish (you can do this on the counter with a little flour, on wax paper or right in the baking dish)
- Place one flattened croissant into bottom of sprayed baking dish
- Sprinkle a handful of cheese onto croissant
- Spread meat mixture evenly onto croissant in baking dish
- Sprinkle as much cheese as desired onto meat mixture
- Carefully place the remaining flattened croissant on top of meat mixture
- Bake for approx 45 minutes or until top croissant light golden brown
- With 5 minutes of baking time remaining - sprinkle a couple of handfuls of cheese on top
- Serve with sour cream and/or salsa
Notes
You could also make this same recipe substituting the beef for lean beef, chicken or ground turkey.
