what you need
- 2 bricks (8 oz. each) Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (It’s better with real vanilla, not extract)
- 1 1/2 cups powered sugar (I don't measure, I just add to taste)
- 1 graham cracker crust (ready made)
make it
Using a heavy duty mixer, mix cream cheese and vanilla until creamy, then add powered sugar. Whip for about 3 to 5 minutes to get out any lumps of cream cheese.
Pour into graham cracker crust.
Refrigerate for at least an hour.
Notes
My friends and family like it plain. I used to pour canned pie filling on the top (i.e., cherry, blueberry, strawberry). I love to bake from scratch, but I found a recipe close to this one and adjusted it to this and I get yelled at if I try to improve or make a fancy baked one. Simple but great.
