what you need
- 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 pkg. dry stroganoff mix
- 1/3 cup water
- 8 oz. sour cream
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (I use mozarella/cheddar blend)
make it
Brown ground beef and onion. Drain and add stroganoff mix, water, sour cream and salt & pepper. Mix well and simmer for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, remove center from French bread loaf forming a "boat". Place bread boat on a foil lined jelly roll pan. Add meat mixture into the bread boat and top with cheeses.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Slice and serve!
Notes
We like to crumble the removed center of bread and sprinkle with garlic powder and then bake around loaf until crispy to use as croutons on a caesar side salad.
