- Chocolate Layer
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Dash salt
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- Butterscotch Layer
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1-1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1-1/2 cUPS all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cUP chopped walnuts

Chocolate Layer
Beat eggs until foamy. Stir in flour, sugar, walnuts, and salt. Set aside. Place cocoa powder and butter in a saucepan and cook over low heat until butter melts. Stir mixture well. Remove from heat and add to egg mixture and blend well. Spread batter evenly in a greased 9" x 13" pan. Set aside.
Butterscotch Layer
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until well mixed. Mix in flour, salt, and walnuts. Spoon over Chocolate Layer in small mounds, spreading as evenly as possible.
Bake 25 - 30 minutes (in my oven, they were ready sooner) until brownies begin to pull away from side of pan. Remove from oven and let cool.
