Broccoli Salad with Bacon

what you need
- 1 head broccoli, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped small
- 6 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 cup light mayo
make it
1) Cut broccoli head into bite size pieces and set aside.
2) Finely chop onion (food processor works best).
4) Fry bacon until dry and crisp (not burnt), chop into small pieces.
3) Combine all ingredients, except broccoli, in a medium size bowl.
4) Add broccoli and mix until well coated.
5) Let sit for a 1 hour in the fridge.
6) Serve cold.
Notes
I have used fat-free mayo, splenda instead of sugar and fat-free 'better than bacon' as a substitute and it tastes just as great!
Also the longer you let it sit, the more the flavors have a chance to blend and the onions taste less pungent.
