what you need
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup whole wheat kernels
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. soda
make it
Mix buttermilk and wheat kernels in blender for 3 minutes. Add butter, egg, salt, and brown sugar. Blend for 10 seconds.
Add baking powder and soda. Pulse 2-3 times just until mixed. Let mixture foam up and get light.
Cook at once on a hot, 375 degree, nonstick griddle.
Notes
DO NOT double recipe. It gets too bubbly for blender to hold.

I know this may not look that appealing, but they are so good!
With practice you will be able to get the wheat kernels to just the right consistency; not crunchy, nor mushy.
