what you need
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup Eagle Brand Condensed Milk
- 2 cups milk
- 4 to 6 day old onion rolls*
- 1 large onion, cubed & sauteed
- 2 tabs Parkay margarine
make it
Preheat oven to 350*. Mix eggs, condensed milk & regular milk. Tear up the rolls into the wet mixture. Let the mix sit and soak.
Chop the onion into small cubes. Then saute in the margarine until caramelized. Add the onions to the bread mixture.
Pour into a greased oven proof container that holds 4 cups.
Bake for 30 min. Check for 'doneness'. It should be slightly moist.
Notes
This is a wonderful side dish for pork, turkey, chicken, etc.
It is also a wonderful vegetarian dish.
*I usually pick the rolls up in the 'day old' section. Then I freeze the rolls until I need them.
