what you need
- 1 beef roast (3-4 lb.) or pork loin roast or pork butt roast or whatever will fit your crock-pot
- 3 tablespoons A.1. Steak Sauce
- 1 pkg. meatloaf seasoning mix
make it
Place your choice of roast in crock-pot. Smear A.1. Steak Sauce over entire top of roast. Sprinkle meatloaf seasoning mix on top.
Cook for about 8 hours on low. Makes a wonderfully, juicy roast.
To make gravy off broth... remove roast and keep warm. Mix 2 Tablespoons of flour with 1/4 of cold water. Turn crock-pot up to high and slowly mix flour mixture into broth. Cook for about 1/2 hour or longer until consistency of your choice. Gravy is wonderful over Minute Rice, potatoes, noodles! Enjoy!
Notes
I don't know what the meatloaf mixture does to the roast. However, it is one of the best and easiest recipes I've ever created.
I am a volunteer coordinator at a large hospital and we produce a newsletter for our volunteers. We have a recipe corner and I put this recipe in it. The administrator’s wife made my roast for company, having never tried it and wrote to me that it was a huge hit and she would be making it again and often!
I created this recipe one morning after looking for a package of onion soup mix (my usual pot roast staple) and couldn't find one. So, browsing through all my little packages of gravy mixes, etc., I saw meatloaf mix and decided to try it. Wow!
