what you need
- 16 squares Baker's Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, divided (2 pkgs.)
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 cups chopped nuts (optional)
make it
Preheat oven to 350. Coarsely chop 8 squares of the chocolate; set aside. Microwave remaining 8 squares chocolate in large bowl until melted and smooth. Stir in sugar, butter, eggs & vanilla. Stir in baking powder and flour. Stir in reserved chopped chocolate and nuts.
Drop by cupfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 12-13 minutes or until cookies are puffed and feel set to the touch. Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute. Transfer to wire rack to cool.
