what you need
- 4 cups water (3 cups broth, 1 cup water), divided
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 box chow mein (noodles and sauce mix)
- 1/2 can bean sprouts
- 4 oz. cooked meat (chicken, pork, ground beef, or shrimp)
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. water

Place 3 cups water or broth in saucepan. Add celery and onion. Cook on medium heat till crisp tender, about 10 minutes.
Mix the other cup of water with sauce mix from box of chow mein. Add sprouts and meat to vegetables in pan. Then add sauce mix in water. This will thicken somewhat.
Mix cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. water till smooth and add to chow mein to finish thickening. Serve over crisp noodles from box.
