what you need
- 3 lb. Portuguese chourico
- 1 large green bell pepper
- 1 large onion
- 4 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 bottle or can beer
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce (optional)
- 1 pkg. deli sub rolls
make it
Peel off outer casing of sausage, and then slice in 1/4 inch rounds. Julienne the green pepper and onion.
Heat olive oil in Dutch oven. Add sliced chourico, peppers and onions. Add beer and tomato sauce. Cover and cook on med-lo heat for 35 minutes, stir occasionally.
Pile on deli sub rolls and enjoy. Extremely delicious.
Notes
You can omit the tomato sauce if desired.
If you want it spicier, add a few drops of hot sauce on each sandwich.
