what you need
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 pkg. taco seasoning mix
- 1 can (14 oz.) refried beans
- 1 can (4 oz.) green chilies (mild or hot)
- 1/2 cup taco sauce
- 2 1/2 cups Kraft Mexican Cheese
- 4-8 flour tortilla bread
- 1 container (16 oz.) sour cream
make it
Brown ground beef, drain. Mix in taco seasoning and cook according to directions. Add refried beans, green chilies, and taco sauce to the meat mixture.
It is best to have a round deep dish, preferably an iron skillet. Put a thin layer of meat mixture on the bottom of skillet, add a layer of cheese, and cover with flour tortilla bread, repeat until you run out of meat mixture. Make sure you end with meat mixture on top. Cover with Mexican cheese.
Cook at 350°F until cheese is melted and bubbly. Cut it into 8 pie wedges and garnish with sour cream and extra cheese and taco sauce. If you did not us all of the tortilla bread cut them up into small wedges and fry them, they are great with this dish.
