what you need
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, crushed
- 2 slices whole wheat sandwich bread
- Kraft pepperjack cheese, sliced
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 small tomato, sliced, (optional)
make it
Combine butter and garlic in a small bowl. Spread the garlic butter on one side of each slice of bread.
In a small skillet, over medium heat, place buttered bread in pan, buttered side down, top with pepperjack cheese slices, avocado slices, tomato slices and buttered bread, buttered side up.
Grill until golden brown, flip the sandwich over with a spatula and grill until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Notes
A delicious, grown up version of the grilled cheese sandwich. This is a great meatless sandwich. It can also be made as a quesadilla using flour tortillas in place of bread. Additional optional ingredients are sliced black olives and diced green chiles.
