what you need
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground pork
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. ground sage
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pie crust
make it
Mix all of the ingredients together, except crust, and place in an 8-inch deep-dish pie plate.
Bake, covered, in a preheated oven at 375°F for 30 min. Remove from oven and pour off the accumulated fat.
Cover with the crust and return to the oven for 45 min, or until the crust is golden brown and flaky. Allow to cool completely before serving.
Notes
This is great for a first course, a midnight snack, or a luncheon dish. A very traditional Welsh pie. Also good served with a bowl of potato leek soup.
