what you need
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sour milk or sour cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup hot water
make it
Whip eggs, add sugar and shortening. Mix well. Add sour cream and vanilla.
Sift together & add: flour, cocoa & baking soda gradually along with hot water. Batter will be thin.
Bake at 350 degrees F in greased 9 x 13 pan, approx. 30 minutes.
Notes
Hot water should be the hottest possible from tap water. This brings out the deep chocolate. This is a wonderful moist cake.
