what you need
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups butter/vegetable shortening
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups pastry flour
- 3 Tbsp. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
make it
Take the first 4 ingredients and mix medium speed with paddle for 2 minutes till blended well. Add the 2 eggs one at a time till blended, add 2 cups of flour mix in and add 1/2 the buttermilk blend and add the remaining flour, buttermilk, and the vanilla.
This is a very easy to work with cut out cookie dough. This has to be rolled out on a cutting board or cloth.
After cutting out bake for 9 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Notes
If you don't have access to pasty flour you can use half cake and regular flour instead.
When finished you can melt some white bark and frost and sprinkle for any season. The reason I use the bark is it doesn't dry out the cookie and eats oh so good.
