what you need
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and ground sage
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 can (10.4 oz.) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 to 1 cup sour cream, depending on your personal taste preference
- 1 box Stove Top Stuffing Mix for Chicken
- 1/2 cup melted butter
make it
Spray crock-pot with non-stick cooking spray. Season chicken to taste with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder and ground sage. Place chicken in bottom of crock-pot. Place one slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast.
In a medium bowl, combine soup and sour cream. Pour soup mixture over chicken and cheese. Pour dry stuffing mix evenly over soup mixture in crock-pot. Drizzle melted butter evenly over stuffing mix.
Cover and cook on high 5 hours, or on low for 8 to 10 hour.
Notes
I like to add a little bit of the seasonings I use on the chicken breast into the soup and sour cream mixture. It helps add a little extra flavor.
You can also use frozen chicken breast if that's all you have, just cook on high and adjust cooking time. I have also used bone in chicken breast, but you must be careful of bones.
